Scots holidaymakers trapped on cruise ship tell of coronavirus horror as boat sets sail for Italy

A Scots couple trapped on board a cruise ship have told of their horror after discovering the boat is now set to dock in coronavirus stricken Italy.
Virginia and Bill Maclean, from Inverness, are passengers on the Costa Pacifica and fear they are being sent into the “eye of the storm” after the latest on board announcement.
All passengers apart from French nationals have been stopped from leaving the ship, which docked in Marseille, France, on Friday morning.
The decision reportedly nearly sparked a riot on board, with the couple's fellow passenger Ted Hills, from Lockerbie, revealing fights had broken out between a few people.

An Oxford University lecturer rushed to A&E with breathing difficulties and denied a coronavirus test has slammed the Government for failing to provide more swabs.
Dr Jennifer Cassidy said Boris Johnson needed to 'get a grip and test' after doctors refused to swab her because she was not in a life-threatening condition.
The politics lecturer, who has underlying health conditions, had 'huge difficulty breathing' and claims she suffered all of the killer virus' tell-tale symptoms.
An X-ray also revealed she had a severe chest infection, one of the hallmark signs of COVID-19.

So they are perfectly happy to give someone an X-Ray, but no COVID-19 test. I'm starting to think they want the published numbers much lower than actual. This happened in China, right?
The Govt. said a couple of days ago they were going to massively ramp up testing, but yesterday's number of tested was just under a third of the day before. They either haven't a clue what they are doing or they are fudging stuff on purpose.

The masks were meant for brave NHS workers battling coronavirus across the country.
After realising what was on board, border guards in France held the truck in the wake of President Emmanuel Macron's promise to 'requisition' face masks for the French crisis, reported The Sun.
