Tiger at Bronx Zoo tests positive for Covid-19

Nadia, along with six other big cats, is thought to have been infected by an asymptomatic zoo keeper.
The cats started showing symptoms, including a dry cough, late last month after exposure to the employee, who has not been identified.
"This is the first time that any of us know of anywhere in the world that a person infected the animal and the animal got sick," Paul Calle, the chief veterinarian at the zoo, told Reuters news agency on Sunday.

HALF of results from the 17.5m 'game-changer' coronavirus home testing kits ordered by the government could be unreliable, scientists checking them reveal

Speaking to the Guardian, Dr David Ho, a leading infectious disease specialist at Columbia University, said in reality the sensitivity of the tests was likely to detect just 50 to 60 per cent of those with more mild symptoms.
It comes after Health Secretary Matt Hancock himself said on Sunday that the kits were not yet 'good enough' with ministers playing down their universal effectiveness.
Mr Hancock told BBC One's The Andrew Marr Show that plans to roll out the tests across the country were no longer immediate.

Boris Johnson is receiving oxygen treatment in hospital

As we've seen from all the digging into this virus and event, this is bad news. Once you have to receive oxygen, the recovery chances fall quickly as the disease progresses.

Yes, about 50% recovery rate so I'm led to understand. I don't think he is that bad though. It doesn't say he is on a ventilator, just receiving oxygen. It really serves himself right. He wasn't doing what he told all us to do, and that is the result. I do hope he is OK though, as much as I think he is a clown, I wouldn't want him to come to harm. Hopefully just a good wakeup call for him.

As pneumonic plague is caused by the bacterium Yersinia pestis, formerly called Pasteurella pestis, it would be extremely difficult for the COVID-19 virus to mutate into Yersinia pestis. In fact it would be the most rapid form of evolution known to man. Viruses cannot become bacteria and vice versa. https://emergency.cdc.gov/agent/plague/factsheet.asp
