The first case was on the 31st January in Italy
That case is still positive, the virus is still replicating inside the body
That is 1 month and 17 days later.
This virus evades the immune system?

I went looking to see when the first was confirmed in Italy before I read your last post. The dates I got were 'started to feel ill around Feb 14' and admitted to hospital on Feb 19. (https://www.lastampa.it/torino/2020/03/17/news/coronavirus-il-paziente-1-del-piemonte-e-ancora-positivo-1.38603347)
Regardless though, that's at least a month. He did get pneumonia and was in ICU for 18 days;
It is sounding like this virus, or a mutation thereof, could potentially be quite resilient. That's not so good for us....

"Mattia had mild pneumonia, but was resistant to any known therapy.
"I thought that, to help him, I had to look for something impossible."
