Still haven't got the SMTP side of the mail server working properly, not able to securely authenticate properly. If anyone has got this working on Ubuntu Server 14.04 please PM me to compare configuration files.
Also did some checks in the workshop, in a more scientific manner on the hardware that was giving me such problems, one of the 1Gb RAM sticks common throughout had a big bad block of bytes! The bad block showed at the end of memtest.

Dan, what server is it? Samba?
If you can help me on knowing what software you use, I can help you on the network part.

Got two more of those, but these are with a MySQL database server, instead of local account, should save even more time, plus the ability for you to add a registration form.

Would you mind opening up a ssh port?
Could give it a peek and maybe explain more during the fix, or something alike.

I got it working!!
Followed this instead of the others.

Urgh that been annoying me for days. Reading mail is now broken, but I think I know why that's not working now...
....all working!
Next job .. fixed shared data uploads. For some reason RadLog is able to create the directory structures but not upload the files.
