Strict new curbs on life in UK announced by PM

Strict new curbs on life in the UK to tackle the spread of coronavirus have been announced by the prime minister.
From this evening people must stay at home except for shopping for basic necessities, daily exercise, any medical need and travelling to and from essential work.
Shops selling non-essential goods are being told to shut and gatherings in public of more than two people who do not live together are to be prohibited.
If people do not follow the rules police will have the powers to enforce them, including through fines and dispersing gatherings, Boris Johnson said in a televised statement from Downing Street.

So finally a proper lockdown in the UK
It will be 2-3 weeks before the detections stop accelerating
Then it will be 4-6 weeks before the deaths stop accelerating?

That's pretty much my reckoning.It will continue to rise for the next two weeks then start to slow and peak in 3 weeks or just over. Then start to drop slowly, for a week or so, then fall rapidly as all the cases get over it or otherwise.

It is going to be pandemonium for the NHS and other health workers. We need loads of supplies and kit now, but will need even more in two weeks. It is going to be hard for some people and easy for others. It is quite a change when a high paid CEO or financial worker means nothing and a low paid health worker means everything. It is quite a humbling time.
