I'm really not sure. Maybe the cracks in Heysham have opened up a bit, but they fixed it quickly with some Gorilla glue and expanding foam.
The little rise on the 20th seems to correlate with what Vinkx posted about here .

Maybe a muon that passed through the tube?

Many muons maybe, but just one muon would give just one count. From what I understand muons/cosmic rays contribute to background counts but would take some kind of solar storm to produce enough to cover a length of time. I'm not sure if the peak was due to the same thing that caused several stations to see a peak on the 20th October, but my main peak happened a day or so before the 20th. Not really sure what it was. I may be muons, but then I would expect to see it on stations close by and wasn't detected by other stations indoors, which would detect muons as they pass through brick/tiles etc very easily.
