Yes this helps. So we know for certain
- Comms ok, providing baud rate matches. Default for GMC500 is different to other units.
- Two characters, 16 bits are returned that contain the reading
- The actual value is something unexpected, different to the published spec.
Next:
Get ready to send <GETCPM>>, but don't send it yet.
Watch for the CPM to change on the screen.
Immediately write down the CPM and uSv/hr at that moment, then send <GETCPM>> before anything changes.
Copy the two characters, save them somewhere. Convert them to hex and please post the result here, along with the CPM and uSv/hr.
Then I can try to work out what value and encoding has been used for the number.

I have GMC500+. After <GETCPM>> it return not two, but four characters. Last character is in CPM, not uSv/hr.
Results:
15CPM - 00 00 00 0F
16CPM - 00 00 00 10
17CPM - 00 00 00 11
18CPM - 00 00 00 12
19CPM - 00 00 00 13
20CPM - 00 00 00 14
I made two screenshots after one click <GETVER>> and one click <GETCPM>>: First screenshot is in ASCI mode, second is in HEX mode.
Results:
15CPM - 00 00 00 0F
16CPM - 00 00 00 10
17CPM - 00 00 00 11
18CPM - 00 00 00 12

Hi Daniel and Marco, I have done further tests. I installed the GMC 500 ON A THIN CLIENT T610 with Windows 7 embedded, set the com port to 57600, far from the various lan cables, wireless router and PC with a five meters usb active . Now Radlog communicates with it. Except that, unlike the GMC 300, it reads a little higher values. I am attaching photos. What could it be?

Ah, thank you! Ok that clears up the difference. I'll check RadLog code next and modify to detect whether the number is 16 or 32 bit.
