That looks brilliant, nice job! I'm interested to buy the kit too.

Thanks for the feedback! Enthusiasm for the project helps to spurr me on - juggling both the software and hardware has been a fun challenge for the last few months. I've identified some good improvement points for the software as well. This could keep me (and hopefully other contributors) busy for a little while!

That looks good! Nice and simple. I'm curious as to why you use through-hole components and not SMT. Is it for ease of build?

Yes very much ease of build.

I considered SMT and some assembly done at the fabricators. Keeping in spirit of this being a kit and to appeal to the ESP/HomeAssistant/self build community as something that you build and tweak yourself I decided to keep it all through-hole. I plan on writing up information about the circuitry etc to then hopefully lead to a learning kit as well

ESPGeigerHW generates high voltage for the Geiger Tube by use of an integrated boost circuit - making 5V into ~400V.

ESPGeiger controls the high voltage at the tube with PWM generated by the ESP8266. The frequency and duty cycle can be adjusted by visiting the HV page @ http://ipaddress/hv
