Geiger moved outside to it's final location

Ok Frank, thanks for your setup info.
Attached are some pix of mine.
A close look and you will see a blue line and a slit just under the g tube. I cut a opening in the enclosure and then covered it with a piece of painters tape to keep bugs out.
I figure it might kill some of the alpha getting to it. But, if there is that much, not sure I want to be outside!

Hey Tom, that's pretty cool, nice setup. I see the enclosure has a seal for the cover too, that's good. On the tube your using, I don't believe you will get Alpha, I think that requires a open ended type of tube. The closed ended tubes will do beta and gamma. I'll get some pictures shortly of mine. Nice job !

On that note. What is your thoughts, or anyone jump in, on the length of the wires from the tube to the geiger? You may see where I am going here, but would it be possible to eliminate all the "stuff" and just mount the tube? Anybody do this? How did it work for your setup?

I don't think we can do that with just the tube, it will add too much resistance to the measurements I believe. I was thinking that too at one point, but was informed of the issues. Was too good to be true and too easy, lol. So the whole thing ended up out there. Others will jump in and concur

Ok. I was aware of the problems. But, thought somebody had to push the limits
BroHogan has some info on his site about the effects of long line lengths.
Be a heck of a lot easier to mount. i would really like to have a tube out in the garden area, some 150 ft from the house.
