Yep. 
Rather proud that I figured it out so quickly.
There is still a little OCD issue on my side where the .get["name"] command won't give me the full device name, it chops off a part, just gah.... But it seems to be a collision of the PyAudio function together with the f.write command..
And I think I'll let you make the news article.
I think you do a better job at it, to be honest.
