After 8 hours your new setup looks stable, averaging ~15 CPM. Nice job!

It looks to be working well. I notice a spike yesterday but I am assuming that was caused either accidentally or on purpose, but more interestingly is the drop in counts from your indoor counter to the outdoor counter. What are the differences before and after? Is the outdoor unit a different tube to the indoor unit or is it possibly radon causing higher counts indoors?

Actually its probably a combination. The new tube is a little less sensitive, but I know the background count in my workshop/lab is relatively high, it's a semi-basement dug into the groundrock and built from local stone. Local rock is schist. I have had it largely sealed with ceramic tiles and a slurry. The indoor count is probably 50% higher than I had in the UK. I am also about 25 miles from a disused uranium mine, and about 4 miles from a lead mine, so I would guess that the radon count would be relatively high.

Now planning to be offline for a few days while I do a few modifications, seems preferable to going on and offline.
