Hi Bert490.
I don't use Radlog my geiger is just standalone.
I am not sure how the warning levels are set if Radlog is not used but I have sent a PM to mw0uzo.
If I could have fitted a CRT in the case I would have tried it!

Hi I have fitted a SBM -19 tube indoors to replace the SBM-20 and the counts have gone up as expected.
I notice the counts go up in the evening see weekly chart is this normal I did not notice it with the SBM-20?
I thought it maybe it is something I am doing in the house but then you would expect the readings to go up all day at weekends and when I am off work but they don't.

Looks to me as though you have a radon problem. At night when there are people in the house and it is all closed up and humid, radon builds up and the radon's progeny attach to airborne particles and moisture thus revealing themselves to the geiger counter...

Hello! Allow me to express my opinion:
1. Try to change the tube with the same type of tube (but another one). Then try with SBM-20.
2. Try to measure high voltage goes towards the tube (you'll need a voltmeter with high internal resistance. Ordinary will not measure correctly).
3. Try to move the box outdoors or away from your house and let measured there a few days.
4. Borrow another Geiger counter (working correctly) and put it in the same place and see what it will measure.
5. Check your conversion factor for tube wich you use now(may be you've done that already ).
I hope that I was helpful just a little bit
Regards!

Thanks for your replies. I have checked the UK Radon map
Radon Map
and my area on Chalk downland is not zero risk but 1-3%.
I'm not sure if the levels are going up as night due to people being around as I have been at home all week and the levels have not changed.
I had an SBM-20 connected for the first few weeks but maybe it was not sensitive enough to show the fluctuations, maybe they were always there and the SBM-19 is just magnifying the increase.
I will have to get the SBM-20 data and look into it and check the percentage increase in the evening.
