Hello to everyone!
I am one of the lucky people to have received a radbox-20 before it was marked as out of stock recently
Unfortunately, I am still struggling to get pyradmon running on a raspberry pi, because there seems to be an issue somewhere between pyaudio, my USB sound card and ALSA. But I will put that in the corresponding thread. So for now, I cannot put up any readings, but I am definitely working on it. The only alternatives I have right now is an older netbook which I might consider using (its battery is broken and won't work without power connected). My workstation, based on a XEON processor is a bit too heavy to keep it running all day, especially considering the increasing prices for electricity.
The radbox is currently located about 20cm away from a window on the windowsill. My primary interest currently is to get various readings (not only radiation) to combine them and get possibly a "bigger picture". I already bought a dust sensor which I plan to hook up to an Arduino (or compatible).
Besides that, I am working for a large, Germany-based corporation as IT specialist with tasks ranging from SAP to network related stuff. So I might be able to help with the technical stuff at work here (read about the server discussion in another thread), if needed. I also have a small son, which is why I have a lot of respect for the work mw0uzo invests into this project .

Welcome mattheiu!
Thanks for the offer of help, it is always appreciated. I may well PM you some questions when I take a look at the server next.
Yes the little ones definitely keep you busy! 5 year old and 2 year old girls here.
Between me and Thimo we should be able to get your software setup working. I haven't set up the RPi and pyradmon audio for some time, so I don' remember what you have to do. Have you tried using alsamixer to get the audio settings set up?

I realised yesterday that I never took a look at how wheather proof the radbox actually is. We had strong winds and quite some rain, which made the box look seriously wet (drops all over it) but so far no issues. I was thinking about covering some parts with duct tape. Do you have any experience regarding wind and wheather?

It's pretty much near waterproof. The case is sealed with a gasket and the lead has a waterproof cable gland. The LED is also waterproof and has a rubber seal.

Short update from my side: Because we have some construction work in our neighbourhood, I had to take the sensor inside and offline. The work did damage the house we live in and I cannot afford the risk to have a cable running through the window. The windows are jammed from time to time.
However, I am looking for a new home for the small box.

Yes, I can confirm that it so far is weatherproof placed on my balcony.
I just wish that Dan could produce more units....
