A solar coronal mass ejection occurred yesterday associated with a long duration C9 flare. Its effects have reached the Earth earlier than predicted, it would be interesting to not if any effects were detected by members.

Some data from my monitoring page shows the following:

Geomagnetic Kp Index started the day at G0 by 1500 it had reached G4

The GOES 15 satellite telemetry @ 135W
shows a reversal of the magnetic field at 1200 the reading was 160nT +ve and at 1500 150nT -ve.

Just plugged my detector back in. What sort of particles might be detected, indirectly? Maybe bursts of gamma might be picked up?

gamma bursts are a possibility I think, but I've not been observing long enough. My external monitor isn't ready yet either, so any effects would have to be massive for me to detect them.

not such a good time for the website to be down. Can you delay the power outage dan?

No, unfortunately not. All power must be switched off. Switch to RadLog and upload anything interesting to shared data when the website is back up?

This would have been a good event for the first few coincidence detectors too. Not finished yet.
