So in my case, should it be?
37.412486
176.8809

OK, so if the co-ords are wrong, does it not show the station at all?Ahh, I wondered why it was happening so much - it was auto filled by the browser!!
It needs to be in decimal format e.g:
37.690
176.135
So in my case, should it be?
37.412486
176.8809

You're on the map now! Just in the wrong place.
Find where you want to put the marker on Google maps, then right click.
The decimal coordinates should be displayed. Put them into your profile

Got it fixed now.
My main concern however is why im getting such a high reading.
Its using an SMB20 at 400V

My comment seems to have disappeared into the aether. There are several possible reasons for high counts. Poor tube contacts is one, try cleaning them, don't use anything too abrasive though as that would remove the plating, metal polish or toothpaste work quite well. Another maybe be the ht voltage, how did you measure it? Normal multimeters have too low an impedance, you need one with a1Gohm input or higher. Noisy power supplies are a common issue, in particular switch mode ones, they need a lot of smoothing, try a battery instead for a time. Proximity to RF sources can also cause problems. I've had all of the above at one time or another. I'm just in the process of setting up a new counter myself, following lots of problems over the last few months.

I was told that my tube could be faulty from to leaking gas due to age.
I dont know how common it is for an SBM20 to fail in such a case. The ebay seller claimed it was tested.
Anyway, I will have another go at cleaning the contacts, they do look a bit tarnished.
I also had read your other thread where you were having similar issues with RF from radio gear or something.
I tried turning off my fluorescent lights, etc, but will try in another room.
I have it running on a benchtop lab power supply that is not switched mode.
I also tried another tube which was a philips 18504 and gave me a realistic reading.
I dont know if different tubes behave differently or not.
Also in regards to voltage measurement, this unit measures it by itself and displays it on the screen, but I know what you mean by the DMM not getting a reading, the load of the meter is too high due to the extremley low current on the HT supply.
Currently its set at 400V.
