I hope to have two more counters online in the next few weeks. The first will be using a BroHogan board and GKNet, this will be with an exterior probe (testing at the moment). The other will be another external counter, solar powered, remote from the house, using an esp8266 with an SBM20 counter.

Nice FSM19. Let us know when you have them up and running.
You may want to have a look at Steadramon's ESPGeiger firmware, here . I am running it on a couple of counters (and have 4 half prepped to go out in the wild, when I eventually get around to it) and it works very well. Easy setup, little config. Just connect a smart phone or PC to get it on your wifi and the hard part is over. I can highly recommend it. The development does seem to have slowed (stopped for now?) but I do know that Steadramon was quite busy with things as of the last time I spoke with him.
There is a web installer, so simply plug in your ESP8266, open the installer in Chrome (doesn't like many other browsers), pick your comms port, pick the ESPGeiger version and flash the ESP. Then connect to the ESP via WiFI, set it up on your own WiFi, then fill in the radmon/MQTT/whatever details, and that is pretty much it.
