I need some help from you Computer experts was created by FarmerDave
Hi, I signed up yesterday but have not been able to get the software to accept my settings and run. I downloaded the latest version and entered the correct settings. I have a GQ GMC 320 plus running on the GQ GMC software that transmits to the world wide radiation map and that is working great. I put the same settings in for the radlog software and keep getting error messages the the object is not attached to the object or somesuch mumbo jumbo. I copied the log file and will attach it if anyone can figure out how to get me transmitting. Much appreciated
See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

I think I know the problem. Each software collector need its own separate input port. I assume your detector uses a USB data port for the GQ software and you are trying to use the same for Radmon. Just stop the GQ software and set Radmon to the same COM port to see if that works. If you want 2 collectors to use the same Geiger counter, you will need 2 separate ports. It's easy to do for a headphone audio port (just split it like Frank has done), but I don't know of a way to do this with USB data. I would connect the audio port of your detector to the microphone input on your computer and configure Radmon for Audio interface. If you don't want to give up the microphone input, then this GQ device will provide a USB mic on a different COM port:
TOOL-081
. To use this device, set Radmon to 'GQ GMC USB serial-audio lead' and choose the appropriate COM port. In fact I use this same device on a GMC-200 feeding NETC.

Which version are you using? V0.41 or V0.42?
It's probably best to stick with V0.41 as this is the stable version. V0.42 is a test version and introduced a lot of changes and problems to iron out. Looks like i missed a 'try-catch'

Try as I might I could not get the software to run. I did install a second detector and it still would not run. I deleted the updated software and install the stable version.....It runs great.. thanks for the tip. FarmerDave

Good to see it's working. Don't forget the LAT and LONG in decimal, with negative longitude for NA (recalling my own trials).
