Coronal hole gamma detection? was created by Juzzie
On October 4th this hole opened up in the sun's corona -
At the same time, this happened at my SI-180g station - southofhobart3, which is particularly sensitive to gamma and xray
I suspect a connection.
The two other stations at this location did not register this detection, but they also have different GM tubes.

Oh wow that's quite a detection. A 50% increase from normal? Very interesting, thank you for posting it! Just looking at my data for the 4th here, nothing hugely out of the ordinary. But here I have SBM-19 on the desk in the shed active at the moment. Has anyone else had a detection today?

There is a detection on your other unit too, a nice peak on the 2nd.
And something today just happened.
GK-4 and GK-WiFi w/ air filter and 2xSBM-20 - outdoors

^^ what a cool setup

That detection on the 2nd was a radon washout event. In Tasmania when the conditions are right (or wrong?) we get huge radon washout from, I suspect, the very very large uranium mine in South Australia (S.A.)- Olympic Dam.
The current detections stand alone in that the airflow is from the Southern Ocean rather than S.A. - and there is currently no rain or weather front near Tasmania.
Plus the coinciding coronal hole.
The station southofhobart2 also has a UV sensor which can be viewed at thingspeak.com, so I will be watching that data closely.

readings normalised overnight and elevated readings resumed after sunrise.
Nothing unusual noted on any other geiger counter.
