I have tried a few times to contact various station owners (users) via PM regarding their station charts, and failed due to the fact that user names aren't necessarily connected to station names. How can I reliably contact a station owner?

Since the new website went up all recent stations have the same forum username as their radmon username. But a lot of the older stations that have been around since the beginning are not registered on the forum or have registered using different names. I don't know if I can suggest a fix for that, perhaps if those who have a different name could put their station name in their profile?

If there is someone you really want to contact but can't, I can email them for you. But there will never be a feature for contacting a user not on the forum with their registration email address as this information is private. I could go through the userlist and and add everyone as forum users, but IMO its probably best left as something to opt into.

I think its best to allow the user to decide what information they want to give. Some will only want to give a rough location, others will want to give their exact location and a public email address.

Im not after anyones email address, its just,.... I was trying to send a PM to filewalker regarding that stations chart, but the message couldn't send because that user supposedly doesn't exist. There's no way to associate station name with user name?

I was just going to email Dan asking whats up with that station and the really high readings as its been RED now for some time. But I agree with Dan, that is an option and I was too looking to PM the one in Florida to see what happened to them but no email address shown. So I asked Dan if he could find out since it's his site and had a users now heading offline and wanted to let them know. :)

So, no reply to the above but I see that station is no longer in the red now. Would be nice to know what happened out there?
