Because of my current counter issue I'm going to be offline for a day or two. It seems that possibly my tube voltage is a bit on the high side and currently I can't turn it down, so out with the tools.

Just tried something,ran a check with another counter same type of tube, different circuit,and the reading are practically identical, both higher than normal!

Are the counters near anything metal that is new in the room? I had a hifi in to fix a while back and I put it next to my counters, which led to a few days of high readings, I didn't realise it was the hifi until I moved it away! The steel case was slightly radioactive.

New PC case! The old one was not very well cooled, so this is a bit bigger,new PSU and one extra case fan. Just thought I blew a lot of dust round too when I was doing the changeover!
